How to send an SMS

Send a text to a contact and see the checks that keep it compliant.

Send a text message to a contact in Mosaic, and see the checks that keep every message compliant.

Steps

  1. Open a contact's card from the Contacts list, then click Send a text. The contact needs a mobile number and must have agreed to SMS. See consent explained.
  2. In the Text panel, choose Marketing for promotions, or Service for factual replies.
  3. Type your message. Mosaic counts the characters and tells you how many messages it will use.
  4. Mosaic checks the message before it goes. A marketing text needs your business name and an opt-out line. Click Add business name and Add opt-out line to add them, and the warnings clear. Start with the business name and end with "Reply STOP to opt out".
  5. Click Send.

Quiet hours

Marketing texts wait until the morning if it's currently quiet hours, so only override this when you really have to. See quiet hours and opt-outs.

Service messages

Choose Service for factual replies and logistics only, for example confirming a booking. Service messages can't contain promotions, and you give a short reason for sending. Opt-out wording is optional.
